And the drain is replaced by an ACO channel across the full width of the driveway

And then level the ground and re-pave:

The last few meters take the longest:

When summer comes, the garden will turn green again:
(26.07.2019)

Only the hawthorn in the middle is almost dead and poses a danger to the public path behind the hedge. The hazel on the left was strategically poorly placed on the sewage and rainwater pipes.

Rambazamba!
(05.10.2019)

Wow, the garden is big and bright.

Finally space for fruit trees Only now the street lamp shines into the bedroom.

In the living room, one of the two radiators is missing for now, so it’s a good idea to have an additional alternative. This would be a good place for a stove, the chimney is there and the fireplace in the basement is half torn down.
(07.07.2019)
Only there is still a lamp outlet in the wall and the door opens the wrong way.

Researching how everything is wired in order to disconnect the wall socket:
(28.07.2019)

And documenting the result:

Turning the door frame around

Preparing the wall
(10.08.2019)

A bit of wallpaper and you can hardly see any work done
(11.08.2019)

And as soon as the paint has dried, the stove house has done a great job:

cool documentary. I immediately understood, unlike the rest of the readership, why some things were not done 'correctly' right away. simply enjoys all the work so much that he just wants to do it again soon.

I’ll join in here as well. I only read it on my phone and find it very exciting, I’ll take a closer look at it over the weekend. We have partially renovated our old building as well and are still working on it a bit. I see ourselves reflected in many things here.

Thank you for the great documentation!

Yes, it's fun, I am aware that some things are free / provisional and will be removed again. But I have practice objects. The alternative would have been a complete core renovation before moving in, and for that we would have had to finance more and had problems with the availability of construction companies. Just for comparison, what others are doing in the residential area:

I personally would have done the kitchen and bathroom properly right away, but the way you did it is also completely fine. I like that you are preserving quite a bit, like the beautiful parquet floor. May I ask what you paid per square meter for its treatment? The fireplace is really nice. And I’m amazed that you were able to remove and reinstall the door frame without any problems. All of ours broke during removal.

And hats off for all the rough installation. That’s something we didn’t dare to tackle in our house (at least where the pipes then disappear behind walls).

What are your plans for the next few months? And congratulations on the pregnancy, it’s an exciting time especially with the first child. But I can only advise you to get as much done as possible before the birth, because afterwards it’s often all hands on deck or you’d rather spend time together than dig through construction debris.
