Since the mishap, everything has been running great with the heating. It’s warm and except for the basement, all traces of the construction work have disappeared.

For example, the pipes had to be disguised through the living room:

Now everything is either wallpapered again or hidden behind baseboards.

This gave time for some small jobs. The doors of the living room and study have been swapped:

And with the Christmas break, there was also time to replace the two stairwell windows.
The removal went pretty quickly with a big hammer:

Afterwards, secure the opening and do some preliminary work for the installation:

Then just put them in:

Later the plastering inside followed. Outside work will continue only with better weather and higher temperatures.

The insulation on the outside must be completed and new window sills installed.

There are also delays inside because a window sill broke during transport.

Small update: After the replacement delivery, the window sills were glued in and everything was plastered. Then wallpaper (and meanwhile paint) and inside, it's quiet again for now. After the weather improved a bit, now also exterior preparatory work to be able to add the missing insulation.

Looks great, but wouldn’t fixed glazing with narrow frames have been more worthwhile for all the small windows? As it is, there is always very little window area. And how wide is the door by the sloping roof?

Of course, more window area would be nice. But with a standard frame, in the end the difference to others is not that big. Inside it is even brighter than before, the colorful glass blocks absorbed a lot of light after all. The door to the study has a frame width of 580mm.

Instead of two small windows side by side, I would have installed one wide, fixed window band. Somehow these two tiny windows next to each other look strange...
