Just checked the FAQs from Westnetz. They require a separate meter. And indeed: they have fixed charging periods!

There will be even more of that. With [Wärmepumpen], this is often already standard. The providers have no desire to put the expensive peak load electricity into the car that hangs on the plug all night. Beautiful new electric world

So alternatively install it yourself and not through Westnetz. Up to 11kW only requires notification.

That’s pretty extreme. I really appreciate my 22kW charging unit without control by the grid operator...

So I gather that at least the preparation for the second meter would be sensible.



The point is – and I’m still looking for the catch – that supposedly you are not obliged to commit to Westnetz. They prepare the eMobility connection (in the context of new construction/new connection) completely free of charge and allegedly you still have the choice regarding the providers...

I thought maybe someone here has just gone through the same thing and therefore has the insight :)

Well...to me, that rather reads as if Westnetz is definitely allowed to switch it off.
