Opinions on our floor plan are welcome

We do the construction management ourselves and can basically only attribute it to ourselves. I am sure the fault lies with the window manufacturer. We even had an extra 6cm built up because of him. But he also had the measurements 92cm with a 4cm worktop. No idea what he measured there.

We deliberately set the window 10cm higher

Why is that?

I prefer having a raised surface separate from the worktop for placing herbs, soap, and such

Thank you Yvonne... Yes, by now I can really imagine it being practical. Especially for herb pots, it can be very useful. And visually, I think the solution looks quite stylish in a digital way... If it is implemented like that.

... and when you have to wipe the countertop (which is the case every day after cooking), all those things that accompany you and your life on the windowsill can stay there. You don't have to move or remove them or anything like that

I also think the solution from the kitchen builder is totally fine. And it certainly has advantages! (Maybe even more, because after all you only need the large countertop surface occasionally throughout the year, and wiping the countertop and constantly lifting all the pots, you would have to do almost daily)
