I would forgo the wall and opt for a glass shower enclosure over two surfaces. It is more spacious, brighter, and without a hose-like character – and nowadays there are also nice designs.

Hm, so glass after all... my husband also tends more towards that... *ponder* I wanted something with less splashing... Well, then I have to make my husband clean there.

Since I doubt that the shower will be used frequently, it will be limited. (Correct me after moving in if I'm wrong) I would be more concerned about where I would put my clothes and how much space I have for drying off, applying lotion, and getting dressed

Then rather like this, right?!

: Let's see what happens after moving in, but I have experienced that the shower on the ground floor is actually used quite often. Not by guests (we also have a guest room on the ground floor), but also by the husband, who, for example, doesn't want to run up to the attic after gardening. We'll see, maybe one is mistaken. However, we are planning a third or even fourth child, and at the latest when they are in school, there will surely be disputes over the shower, and we'll even be glad to have planned something in the basement.

Regarding storage space, I really need to think carefully. At the in-laws, we always put things on the windowsill or on the toilet... *pondering*

I like it so much better.

As you can tell, I'm not a fan of guest bathroom showers.
But surely there are people who use them :-P

That's why I find it a bit difficult to come up with ideas.
I think your basement shower is much better. In that room, you also have enough space! I guess everyone will prefer that in the end.

PS: As a student, I never showered in the morning! And my sons haven't come up with such an idea either. Prefer to sleep longer.
