Thank you for the photos, your house already looks great. I'm not really a fan of brick, but I quite like it here. It would also be interesting in the end to see what you did differently from the planning submission. (Schon allein die Schiebetüre, ect )

What exactly did you have to do outside then? I heard you had to do the exterior work in advance because of the slope?

Your house already looks great. Could you maybe tell me which brick (manufacturer/model) you used? Is it the thin format laid in running bond? We need to decide on our brick soon and are still torn back and forth ...

Thanks, nat. The brick is the "Holsten" from Hagemeister. The size is 5.2 cm high and 24 cm long. They are small bricks, which are a bit more complicated to lay. My husband and a few buddies built the bricks and they often got frustrated.
What does "im laufen Verband" mean?

The first real problem at the construction site happened with us or rather became apparent. Yesterday, the kitchen was measured and it was found that the window sill is too high for the planned countertop height... I'm still totally thrown off by this and don't know what we'll do now.

I knew it! The Hagemeister "Holsten" is our absolute favorite, especially in your stone format. Unfortunately, the surcharge for the thinner format is probably unaffordable for us. On the one hand, you need more stones (that would still be affordable), but the main problem is the expensive labor costs (since the bricklayer has to invest significantly more time per sqm). As I said, it really looks great with you, and 99.9% we will get the same clinker, just in the normal format (stone is the same length, but 71mm high).

Thank you. Yes, the labor costs would have killed us too. The men thankfully built it in EL, but I also really felt sorry for them at times. They often complained to me about why I chose exactly this "Ministein".

Oh dear, such a mess with the kitchen!!! How much higher is the window then? If it's only a few cm, you could possibly just make the kitchen higher as well?

Otherwise, it probably won't help :-( I would otherwise just leave it and then simply put nice herb pots and the like on the windowsill....
