Everyone has a different threshold of tolerance. I also think it’s good that they banned the evergreen cemetery planting in our area, meaning thuja and the like. No one suffers greatly by adhering to that. Most people want to use this planting because they know nothing else.

And I am completely indifferent and fully with Frederick the Great, who already in 1770 said that everyone should be saved according to their own way. But that is probably considered un-German and disorderly thinking. And long live the [Thujabusch].

I would like to point out that the color of the bricks alone does not determine the aesthetic impression. It is truly incredible how much different joint colors can achieve. In this respect, I do not understand three times over why it absolutely has to be a specific stone.

because many people lack imagination -
and in this case I can understand that. I am really decisive, but with the huge variety of bricks available, even I found it difficult.
It was always easy to say: I don’t like it.

When we had the bricks here on the house, we got 6 different joint colors: the light ones are not very easy to distinguish in the picture, but you can see the difference to the dark one

we chose one of the gray tones, because white eventually gets dirty anyway, and we found the dark one hideous. Our neighbors would have liked that better, but the surcharge was a bit extreme ,)
And now I can’t even say whether it ended up being the gray on the top left or the one on the bottom...

If I’m satisfied with two sixty ceiling height on the ground floor – with the eaves height remaining the same, mind you – and forgo two eighty because I prefer 20 cm more knee wall in the attic, then that doesn’t bother anyone – ergo it’s just harassment to additionally limit the knee wall again. What annoys me most about strict regulations, however, is that they are unsuitable for curbing ugliness in this respect: that proportionally challenged people spout the worst window format arrangements on their facades is unfortunately not prevented – in fact, the creepiest combinations are often formally unobjectionable. Hedges in evergreen are at least preferable to me than in ever gray: the gabions always seem to me like leftover outer packaging in which one has forgotten to unload a sack of stones. How can something that benefits a Prussian king be un-German? Exactly: the joint mortar tinted just a bit differently, and already one of the clinker bricks supplied by the general contractor gets so close to the same overall impression you aimed for – completely without special treatment contortions.

My problem with the GU clinker lies less in the color similarity and more in the "intrinsic values." When I choose a quality clinker, I receive corresponding data on water absorption, hardness, and other factors that determine the quality of the stone.

When I asked the GU: "The manufacturer generally no longer provides such data because the values change depending on firing and material." That really inspires confidence

Or another quote from a different offer: "According to the construction service description, only well-absorbing clinker bricks are used."
