I used to think the same way - damn paternalism. Meanwhile, I find it very pleasant that not everyone is allowed to do their own crap. Although the house color bothers me less than stone/gabion deserts and concrete walls. Everyone sees it differently - and that’s why it usually doesn’t work without guidelines.
Everyone has a different threshold of tolerance. I also think it’s good that they banned the evergreen cemetery planting in our area, meaning thuja and the like. No one suffers greatly by adhering to that. Most people want to use this planting because they know nothing else.
