I don't think so, because there is no more typical symptom than this:

With the phenomenon of returning to the origin, you are – I would almost say: in all times and countries – in the best company.

By the way, I also experience this very regularly in the business sector: after twenty years and four rearrangements, almost all desks in office buildings are (for the first time) pretty much exactly where the architect originally drew them.

Basically, I also like the layout of variant 2. However, the following points occur to me:
[*]How is the kitchen supposed to be furnished? I find the position of the kitchen good [*]Dressing room ... how many cabinets do you need? I think there is too little cabinet space here [*]A bathroom with 2 entrances is always critical in my opinion, and I would also be interested in the bathroom furnishings. [*]Floor-to-ceiling windows in children's rooms I always find rather counterproductive, as desks etc. have to be placed somewhere and then often stand in front of these windows. Preferably wider windows, but with normal railing height, and perhaps somewhat narrower windows on the east/west side [*]In the living area, windows with high railing height tend to convey a basement feeling inside.

Break away from symmetries in the facade. After all, you don't want a city villa or a Frisian house. Two windows side by side for two rooms may of course be next to each other, but arranged staggered on the facade. Windows in rooms are also not necessarily placed in the middle, but so that there is enough space for furniture.

Are you sure you look out of a window when bathing?
Window in the bathroom: high strip of light, then no one can look in.

Best regards in short

The kitchen is to be fitted flush on the right side with 4 floor-to-ceiling tall cabinets; below (on the south side) there should be a kitchen run 4 meters long toward the dining area and then leading back into the room at a 90° angle. So, a U-shape. The kitchen run on the south facade should also be as flush as possible and fitted with wall cabinets. I will visualize this with the Ikea planner in the next few days.

In the walk-in closet, there is space for 2x 3.50 m tall cabinets. We are omitting a window in the closet since we mostly only stay in there either early in the morning or late in the evening. For everything in between, there are more than enough lighting options.

Yes, I also find the bathroom with two entrances a bit critical, but my beloved wife simply does not want to walk naked through the hallway (I wouldn’t mind).

I have implemented your tip regarding the children's room windows; it sounds reasonable. I don’t think the two windows in the living room create a basement feeling; I have already seen several living rooms with such windows, and after all, we want the living room to be a bit separated and cozier, keyword: cave.

Then you still have to work on some measurements

[*]240 cm tall cabinet wall, it should have a planned dimension of just under 250 cm, plaster, etc.
[*]400 cm kitchen unit .. it is less than 400 cm to the sliding door
[*]2x350 cm wardrobe in dressing room ... there is a window drawn there, so we can't know that the window will be omitted. However, the room is currently only 334 cm wide.

    [*]Furnish bathroom once.

Oops....I had taken out the window in the dressing room yesterday, I just didn't remember that it is still in the plan here.

Yes, I agree with you , the dimensions are still not 100% fixed, as I said, this is just my "paper sketch" for the architect, and together with him it will finally be worked out. It was more about the room layout, windows, size proportions, etc.....

I am also considering whether the hallway on the ground floor really needs a hallway width of 150cm between the staircase and the wall or if 120cm would be enough. Then I could pull the kitchen/office wall a bit to the right without losing much space in the office and would have gained something in the kitchen as well.
