Yes, we have already had that idea and will probably implement it that way. The distance from the left wall of the guest room to the door will be set to 60cm and the door stop will be swapped.

I would set the distance to 65 to 70 cm (for example, a Pax with sliding doors = 66 cm depth] also fits behind it).

However, I must mention that it is not a guest room but our office. Against this background, no PAX or other wardrobe will be placed there. Much more shelves for file folders and the like will go there; 60 cm depth is more than enough.

We don’t have the SbS because of the ice cubes. It is simply already there and should not be replaced by something with less usable content... we are attached to this SbS!

And we consciously decided on this solution with the row by the window; this row is 265 cm long, the window is exactly that size and 85 cm high... the worktop at this point has a depth of 85 cm, creating a kind of tunnel / cinema / panorama effect. The wall panel plan-side to the left next to the SbS is needed for various light and control switches. We don’t want to have to walk from the dining table to the beginning of the stairs to turn on the kitchen light. Furthermore, the SbS at this point represents a central spot, easily accessible from the living room, dining room, and terrace.

Yes, but building an airy house around an existing SbS at the planned location is, in my opinion, a mistake ... and, it certainly doesn’t hurt to plant the seed of thought with you.

Even if it becomes a study with shelves/cabinets 40 to 45 cm deep at that spot, I would set the space behind the door to about 70 cm. The space is there, also for the proper door placement, and you never know if a spouse might become in need of care or something, and you want to swap files for wardrobes.

Yes, you are right, we will definitely change something at the door to the study, it really doesn't matter to go from 60cm to 70cm, the care case should not be underestimated! And if that's all, it shouldn't be the reason to fail.

I think the kitchen is still airy enough like this, we also have 1.30m space between the island and the row on the plan side below and right.

In my opinion, everything. Things like the sink/cooking island/SbS etc. are also very much a matter of personal taste. You can only point out unfavorable positions, etc. But the basic planning of where the kitchen and other rooms are located is rather unaffected by that.

In any case, your floor plan has taken a very positive development, but also some changes compared to the initial post (for example, the granny flat).
