Let your heart speak and discuss number 2 in the forum. The visible dimensions seem somewhat arbitrarily set to me, and I’m curious about what you can’t see. With cinnamon? :)

After my first rushed floor plan fail here, I’m not quite confident :rolleyes:o_O But at least it led us to start from scratch, it feels better at least.

It's okay if you decide against advice and opinions, after all, it's your house. If starting from "0" now feels better, then it was worth it, right?

You're right, I expressed myself in a very complicated way. Since the discussion has progressed by now, I have combined the two options into "Heart with Brain":

Red are only wall panels. To the hallway, you only leave openings. If that bothers you, a door can also be quickly installed later. The island would then become a peninsula, and I would push it against the outer wall (green arrow). I would make the access to the pantry from the hallway (basically through the cloakroom). You can shift the wall between the hallway and pantry downward on the plan to create more space for the cloakroom. Also, the area under the stairs can be utilized.

I would definitely also use the kitchen unit on the right side of the plan as a work surface – otherwise, there is too little space. Specifically, e.g., a 3.8m kitchen unit, of which 1.2m along the top of the plan would be fridge/freezer & tall cabinet, the rest work surface with upper cabinets. Opposite that, then a 2.6m peninsula plus a 1.2m passage. The peninsula should be at least 1m deep, and the kitchen unit could also be made deeper (about 80cm) to have space for toaster & co.

That's exactly what I would not do, because that is one of the nice things about this kitchen. But you can't really improve much with just a partial excerpt.
