Nothing more to say! I have cursed all open kitchens so far. The kitchen is for cooking and working and the smell of frying, and the living room is for living and being tidy and not smelling like a fast food joint... and I have not seen any ventilation concept yet that has really sucked away 100% of the smells (and grease particles) while frying.
You overestimate doors, which let smells through, whether good or bad.
By the way, my food smells but does not stink.
Good extractor hood and ventilation system and nothing happens.
Exactly. But I rarely use the extractor hood because it actually disturbs. A drawback that can be considered secondary because my food does not stink either.
My wife, for example, cannot stand the smell of 3/4 of the dishes I cook; it even makes her feel really sick sometimes.
Can she at least stand your smell? o_O
Therefore, we would like to use the dynamics of the discussion to get feedback on our considerations (especially from the proponents of the open kitchen).
