Hello,
we are currently in the middle of a new construction (for the 2nd time) and we would also very much like to install a so-called design floor. Now we have looked a lot on the internet and have also been to the dealer. 2 dealers also recommended the glued version for the new building, but I think this is rather because these companies would also install the floor and thus earn again. In the building materials trade, the recommendations are rather for the click version because you can do it yourself and thus, of course, save significant costs.
As part of an offer from a large German solid construction prefabricated house company, we also came across the topic of floor coverings. Here, an independent interior designer advised us against the glued version. The main reason, according to him, is the settling and expansion behavior of the floors in new buildings. Since the floor is still damp at the beginning, after drying and especially with heating and warmth, expansion joints form between the individual strips, which cannot be removed and simply look unsightly. Meanwhile, there are floors that do not require expansion joints at all and can therefore be laid directly tight against the walls.
We have currently landed on Parador floors, but they are not really cheap.
