We finished laying this morning.

The new NEO 2.0 differs significantly from the previously laid NEO Wood. Both the underlay and the vinyl are much heavier, feel much more solid and of higher quality. Additionally, it is easier to install.

The underlay is completely different (the composition has been entirely changed). Its thermal resistance is much lower. The vinyl itself now has, instead of a carrier board mixed with wood, a carrier board made of stone meal.

The room warmed up overall in a shorter time. This was noticeable to us positively after airing. However, the floor still must not be laid under kitchens. We therefore cut out the kitchen, especially since we saw how the old floor had piled up under our kitchen.

However, we do not yet have long-term experience.

We will report on how the floor behaves in the future. We have documented everything with pictures from removing the old floor to attaching the skirting boards on the new floor.

If this floor also swells, we will no longer remove and reinstall the floor ourselves. But the new product is promising!

Addendum to the new floor: Smell. We only just noticed it when we came back from shopping.
My husband thinks it smells a bit like urine. The rest of the family describes it more as somewhere between persipan and lime cleaner.
However, I have not cleaned it yet. In the future, we will use the PU cleaner from Dr. Schutz, as it is recommended by the floor manufacturer. I just bought a bottle and am curious about the result.

I think you should completely stay away from this manufacturer,... I wouldn't want the smell of urine throughout the whole house.

The smell disappeared after the first damp wipe. The floor is also much easier to clean than the old one. So it remains to be seen whether it can live up to what the manufacturer promises.

Unfortunately, the smell came back. Not as pronounced but annoying. Now, at minus 7 degrees, we cannot constantly throw open the windows to air out the smell. Therefore, today the owner of the specialist shop came to us. The manufacturer had already been informed beforehand. It should be gone in at most two days.

Wait and see.... at least it is cleanly applied for now.

After one week, the following picture emerges: The floor still lies cleanly in place. It warms up faster than the old floor. So far, it has not expanded, the smell has dissipated. It is warm to the feet and gives slightly when walking. The first accident, a heavy pot falling to the ground, it survived without injury. Our neighbor said it looks very elegant. We are satisfied with the floor.
