If I look at the building boundaries on the development plan and the position of the building boundary on the ground floor, I almost suspect that the floor plans are (largely) oriented to north. But that's just a guess.

I like the architectural style. The plot has something special and the house seems to be becoming exclusive. Considering the presumably not insignificant construction costs, I would actually give the children a bit more space. It's kind of annoying when you have a villa and the children come home and envy their school friend in the rental apartment because of a bigger children's room.

Child II could be enlarged by making the roof above the entrance a projection on the upper floor. Child I and room possibly by shifting the wall northwards up to the building boundary, or slightly shifting the house southwards. My feeling is that such a house should have children's rooms of at least 15m2. I would find 18m2 "appropriate".

Thank you very much for the numerous feedbacks.
Attached is how the house is situated on the plot.
North is at the top. Thus, we look outside to the east or into the greenery.
The view is, of course, also on the ground floor. It was important to us to be able to look outside from the living, dining, and kitchen areas.

Strangers have at most a view from the main street in front, although that is very limited and not many people pass by.

Would it be possible to also reduce the size of the bathroom and thereby create more space for children?

Yes, sociability is important to us. That’s why we have an island kitchen. When cooking, I don’t want to have my back to the guests but rather enjoy talking with them and also be able to look out into nature.

How important is the library/sauna to you? Is the view from the bathtub a "must-have"? I find the bathroom nice and it fits the exclusive character of the house. It's just that the children's rooms don't really match.

I would start by placing the garage to the north so that you can still catch some of the south and west sun in the house. And in my opinion, a new floor plan would be needed ops:

That's weird. I actually find the draft quite good, but a few things that bother you also bother me a bit. The kitchen half in front of the stairs - it gives a neither in nor out feeling. I find that uncomfortable. Also, you always have to carry the shopping bags around the island to get to the pantry - that looks annoying. The children's rooms are clearly too small (in proportion) and the bathroom is huge.

I find the living room in the northeast perfect, on the other hand.

What I would ask myself:
- Do we really need the extra second entrance? Who wants to let strangers onto their property? Even if you later needed care staff to live there - the contact would be so close that the shared front door would surely be the very last problem. The space is desperately needed for a proper wardrobe, I think.
- Does the bedroom need the roof terrace? Does it need a roof terrace at all?
Making the children's rooms larger on the upper floor is what I would consider first, and reduce the bathroom, bedroom, and dressing room to an optimum.
- How to get the kitchen out of the hallway without enlarging the house, I can't think of off the top of my head either.
