I still have a few questions about the procedure, which I currently find a bit more difficult:
We currently have 2 individual wall-mounted countertop washbasins.
Our already 2 individual pre-assembled Godmorgon vanity units are already standing underneath, open.
We would like a continuous approximately 160cm wide worktop above – which of course should then all be fixed to the wall and flush with the washbasins.
So:
1. Precise measuring of the cutout for the washbasins is important in order to cut the worktop accordingly (2 cutouts for the washbasins).
2. If the worktop is not fixed to the wall with brackets (which I actually don’t want to do, since I would like to screw the worktop only to the vanity units), how should I proceed best?
--> Mount the worktop directly on the washstand and lift everything flush with the washbasin, mark drill holes, and then fix it at the end? --> Sounds like a 4-person strength effort to me?
Certainly easier if the worktop is fixed to the wall with brackets and the individual vanity units are subsequently mounted to the wall (we don’t want to do that, since we have already drilled enough holes in porcelain stoneware… the fewer the better/easier)
Am I missing something here? How did you proceed here?
Why should the basin be cut out in the worktop at all, or why should this be done precisely? The washbasin "sits" on top of the worktop – so I basically only have to make sure that the siphon has enough space. > Ultimately, I don't actually have to set the washbasin into the worktop? Do I even need a cutout for the basins?
We will be doing the same soon, can you tell me where you bought the wooden worktop with cutouts? At Ikea they only go up to 120cm. We would also like a maximum of 2cm thickness/height. Thanks!
