You can only get to Carport 8.98 if Carport 8.81 has no corner post; and even then you can only turn the car out of Carport 8.98 in Carport 8.81 if the car closer to the house is not parked there. I would find a combination of clinker bricks for the driving lanes and a bound gravel path with the paddock grids the most stylish. In my estimation, this works best with about 2 cm overlap of the grids.

I'm already laughing myself silly about it. Can no one anymore steer backwards through a curve without an elevated pulse?

Yes – I just don’t share Lt. Frank Drebin’s view that you have to drive backwards on a return route. Therefore, I would never want to stand in my own way by having to enter my property forwards and also leave it forwards.

So: The one labeled 8.98 will be the only carport with an entrance width of 4 to 5 meters. The area designated 8.81 is and will remain no carport, but merely an uncovered open space that simply exists and we want to use for parking, chopping wood, or trampoline exercises. Either we park inside the carport (8.98) and then also drive out backwards from there (e.g. backwards onto area 8.81 and then onto the street or directly backwards out) or we drive straight onto the uncovered open space on the gable side (8.81) and park there. Exiting from both places is done backward but that’s nothing special. For "safety" we limit our entrance platform so that you can only walk away sideways from the platform, so no one could basically walk directly into a "passing" car. Maybe it’s better described now….. I’ll do my very best….. I just noticed that I had painted over the word "garage" in area 8.98 :D

That is probably no longer possible now, although I could still drive around the house. There is enough space :D and it will also be kept as an option for a small excavator etc., if ever needed in the garden. Although the property is quite large, the driveway to it was designed rather narrow; in my opinion, a forward-driving-out option would hardly have been feasible.
The carport ended up there because of privacy from the neighbor and it should be close to the house entrance, although the carport will be more of a general-purpose room where maybe a car can sometimes stand, as a dry area for all sorts of things; the old car likes to stand outside anyway.

My wife and I use our driveway - about 100m with a 90-degree curve narrowing sharply towards the street with a height difference of over 10m - now routinely in Drebin-style - although you can turn at the top. My son turns before parking and has snagged one of the two comfortable carport spots for the winter. Clever little guy - but it's my own fault if I give him (Attention: Big talk!) a weather-sensitive open two-seater sports car with a turbocharged Mercedes mid-engine Smart Roadster 452 from 2003

One solution would be a turntable, then the surface issue would be settled at the same time. :p
