Idea generation for driveway / outdoor area without concrete

Understand, my imagination ends, for example, with how I "cross" the driving lane with such beautiful, loose slabs without it looking completely off.
I also quite like the gravel option, partly because I like simplicity and also because I don't want to waste money unnecessarily outdoors, and if so, then preferably on trees and plants.
Do you also have the driving lane made of gravel, or was it done the same everywhere?
If yes, do you perhaps have the possible setup (e.g., how deep it was dug out), because in my opinion our excavator driver tends to want to dig a bit too deep, but we only walk over it or drive over it with the car once a day. With the large area, this makes the removal of the excavated material noticeably more expensive.

Thank you, that motivates me immensely, and from afar I still pass for the Sascha Hehn of back then. I already made a quick phone call today and want to stop by the local building materials dealer on Monday, who seemed very competent. He has paving bricks and all possible types of gravel and crushed stone. Maybe there’s also THE visually appealing design idea here for the purposes of driving/walking in front of the house entrance. I also like the idea of laying the large slabs loose; I need to ask how to practically solve crossing with the car without them shifting.

Take a look at paddock mats (e.g. Ridcon ProGrid) as, I would say, escape protection for your pathway surface.

Where is the problem seen there? The house is already there and the carport will go there. I already drive there and back out currently. Please enlighten me where my parking problem lies or what could be done differently.....I'm blonde after all

So this herringbone clinker (very thin clinker) was laid here by a neighbor in combination with gravel, the clinkers already look really great. Presumably, weeds will sprout between the joints then… that would be too much work for me.

Maybe a combination of gravel with grass grid stones for the driving and walking track (gravel can also go into the honeycombs of the stones) would be something? I find gravel more pleasant than a pure concrete surface.

With gravel, I would put a layer of crushed stone underneath, compact it, and then 10 cm of gravel.
