Both spots are next to the house. So what is a)/b)?
a=Carport=at the house entrance b=open area=gable side I thought I had already explained that anyway.....
Some things cannot be properly implemented afterwards if they are not planned from the start.
Some things yes, although the question always arises what one considers "proper," that often lies in the eye of the beholder. In our case, we have oriented our house, in my opinion, optimally for the view into the green. For a parking space, I would not change one centimeter of my living space. Regarding car & stuff, we have a rather atypical relationship. The carport also had the particular reason that the side to the very nice neighbor is "closed," which pleases him too. Thus, we have a plot with three green sides and at the front of the house we have almost no windows.
Why, for example, two separate parking areas?
Why not? I am flexible enough to use a carport as an advertising space or party room, storage area for a trailer or wood, etc., I have no difficulty with a change of use contrary to the meaning of the word. Honestly, it will show my laziness where/when/how I park, we have more than enough of such space, that's not a problem. Maybe parking space b) will also be the place for the table tennis table or something else. We did NOT plan that.... that will come to us. For some, that may be chaotic or frightening, we rather enjoy finding a meaningful use for it. As I said: car is parked way in the back.
That automatically generates unnecessarily much "sealed" area in front of the house.
That's exactly what I wrote, that I do NOT want. No concrete, really none, no sealing!
Do you then drive along your house behind a fence to the parking spot?
I think it has been explained multiple times and understandably, but if I feel like it, I can also drive all around; also a nice idea for the grandkids with the pedal car.
And then you have to reverse about 20 m to get out again?
Does anyone have a house where they can always drive out forward? I haven't paid attention to that yet. I look out of the window and see that everyone drives in forward and out backward. I don't see the problem, maybe I also park on the street where there is endless space, I must admit I don't really care since I sometimes only use my car once a week, sometimes not at all for 3 months when I am away. Let's say the two areas will probably be used multifunctionally, we'll see how.
