No, the care costs are still added statistically. The 'costs' for salary reduction due to part-time work, etc. are also not yet included.

There are so many factors, especially in the first year(s)...

Does breastfeeding work? Our son accepted only freshly tapped milk directly from the source for the first 8 months - that was good for the wallet.

On the other hand, money went on a baby photo shoot... My wife also loves shopping for him - you can spend €3 on an outfit at a baby flea market or €50 at Adidas...

By the way, daycare would already exceed €500 for us. €440 for care and €60 for food. Luckily, we have a very family-friendly employer who covers the entire cost of care.

The Federal Office apparently takes into account additional costs for a larger apartment.

We didn’t get a place in daycare, but we found a great childminder instead. However, that costs about 1,100 euros per month, without meals. The youth welfare office covers about 400 euros of that. Daycare places are not a given either.

There are still a few additional expenses besides food, diapers, etc. Just in the first year, we bought: baby/children’s room furniture, travel crib, infant car seat, baby carrier system, baby/child car seat, bike trailer, child bike seat, balance bike, and a car roof box when you want to go on vacation and suddenly the trunk is already full [emoji12]

What I want to say is, budgeting 500 EUR per month for the child can’t hurt. In the end, you have to develop a sense or awareness of where expenses will lie in the future.

It's just a statistic, of course it is individual for everyone. But claims that children are actually much cheaper than the statistics fall for me under the category: How much does your car cost you per month? "I usually spend about 100 euros on fuel." Depending on the size, the warm rent for the child's room alone could already cost 100 to 200 euros per month. Also, in this context, the costs for additional children are often downplayed. They are not exactly 'expensive', but almost.

The cut is correct. There are supposed to be people who put up a 700,000 house and then dress the child at [kik].

When going on vacation etc, a child also costs.
