If 20,000 EUR more already breaks the financing before a single excavator has rolled, then unfortunately you have no choice but to forgo the basement and start the planning over again.
There will be significantly more coming that you didn’t know and the seller deliberately didn’t tell you so that you would sign...

I still have it in my ear today, as if it was 5 minutes ago, when the seller said, "12,000 EUR for the house connections, that's plenty, there's always some left over..." If I include wastewater, all the utilities cost us a good 14,000 EUR. Even the predicted 2,000 EUR for a small cistern was a better down payment. And it goes on like this...

If the marriage can still be annulled (and yes, there is blood on the shoe), then besides the right of withdrawal, the consequence should also be taken to redo the candidate selection. Choosing the sweetheart from this, let's say, nicely "inhomogeneous" group — "a turnkey masonry building general contractor, a turnkey masonry building no one really understands the concept applicant, and a timber construction explicitly expansion house provider" — can lead to little except a fairground pregnancy. Or, freely adapted from the Bremen Town Musicians: "something better than a fiasco can be found by the TE everywhere" (once she has prepared better). Unfortunately, she has not yet responded regarding the voting on the basement issue for the plot.

Even if you probably won't like to hear it: with us, the removal including landfill costs for the basement excavation will be on the invoice at €15,000. Net. Completely normal excavation, no contaminated soil or other cost drivers...

That fits… we are currently planning a multi-family house on a slope, whose footprint corresponds to about 4 single-family houses. The budget includes 100,000 for excavation and disposal, but we also partly have rock BK 7.
