Isn't your house already standing? I believe I have already seen pictures if I remember correctly. On what foundation is it standing there?

The area around the house has not been filled in yet - the house stands on strip foundations that are about 2.50m high overall. Cost around 15k.

Filling in next year, if I get good material from somewhere. Either through a garden landscaper or by myself with the Bobcat.

I had suggested this solution to my architect and he said it would be much too expensive and complicated. He wants to fill and compact everything under the house with gravel and crushed stone and is planning just under €30,000 for this. However, this also includes the garage, driveway, and terrace. What do you think about that?

Would have to check what we paid 2 years ago.
Fill and compact old cellar and slurry pit, as well as driveway.
Were a few cubic meters

The cubic meter should weigh approximately 1.6 tons, plus losses due to compaction.

235 t gravel 0/32
Delivery, distribution, compaction including machine hours: 7,050 EUR executed 2017

If you build with a basement, you have endless excavation.
Excavate and store sidewise soil class 3-5 (no pollutants) at 23 euros per cubic meter.
Then the stuff has to go somewhere. You won’t need that much.
Landfill costs?
Transport costs?

At our place, you currently get the excavation delivered. In other words, those who have the excavation pay for the transport. I needed about 120 cubic meters of excavation and topsoil for my outdoor area. Cost 0 euros.

That is probably very different depending on the region. Also from provider to provider. If I were you, I would get a few quotes myself.

My previous experiences with architects: they are artists - they have zero understanding of numbers. Either completely exaggerated or disastrously too low.
