I would place the bed against the exterior wall, 1. you shouldn’t place cupboards against exterior walls because of the risk of mold, but I advise 2. because of the better spatial feeling. Luckily, there are other pieces of furniture besides cupboards ;)
That will be done exactly like that and it makes perfect sense. Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees, especially since we had a mold problem in the bedroom in our current apartment last winter. Thanks a lot for the tip!! :D
On the ground floor, I would do without the two walls between the living room and dining area. They don’t do any good.
In practice, this results in a "square arch" (I can’t think of the right term... o_O). At first, we had everything quite open until my wife noticed that she had no walls to place cupboards, etc. against. We currently have this "square arch" in our apartment and actually found it pleasant. I think it really depends on taste; this way, you lie on the sofa somewhat more secluded. But I will put this point back on the to-do list and discuss it with my wife!
If you manage to get the toilet and shower next to each other sideways into the current shower area on the upper floor, then you would have a fairly well-hidden toilet, which has advantages for 4 or 5 people.
Could you maybe sketch that for me? I’m having a hard time imagining how you would plan the bathroom. In general, my wife has no problem at all with an open toilet; I’m the one who would rather advocate hiding it... ;)
There are no flaws. Such a conservative plan has always worked. You’re the third or fourth this week trying to squeeze into a 4 sqm bathroom at your age.
Phew..., I’m okay with that for now. :-)) And yes.., the age thing is probably more wishful thinking. You try to get everything under one roof somehow but still want what you like now for the years to come.
