At the first slipped disc or lumbago, you will painfully understand the value of a bathtub (even if only for a second bath)...

Otherwise, I am also more of a shower person and would like to have a large, beautiful shower, but neverever would I do without a bathtub altogether (I lived for 6 years in an apartment with a tiny bathroom and no bathtub, and then you suddenly realize that it is missing. It’s possible without, but it’s missed. And the house shouldn’t be like that: works, though).

Absolutely! You want to build your house as perfectly as possible! I have never had a bathtub available, except when I was visiting somewhere. Maybe that's why I don't miss it? My grandparents have a bathtub and are now at the age of medically or back pain-plagued baths... and from the two of them, the clear recommendation is a shower with a tiled seat if you want to sit down. The two of them now have the problem that, although they really like bathing and enjoy it, they can no longer get out of the tub without the help of the other, for example with back pain. And yes, we still have quite some time before we reach that age.... and such a semi-detached house is really not something for old age with all the stairs...

my parents-in-law are now renovating their house and they’re putting in both a bench in the shower and a bathtub with a low entry ;) they bathe very often (including at night because of sleep disorders)

as children, we bathed very often and gladly (but with Playmobil, not with Lego :P)
in our first apartment we only had a shower, I missed bathing, after that we always only had a bathtub, not the best for showering, but it works, it was always either or and with the kids planning in mind, we then chose the bathtub ;)

Even at 30, a medical bath can be necessary. For example, my husband swears by these cold baths, I prefer a baking soda bath. Be that as it may: you have two bathrooms, where you can equip one for these eventualities. It doesn’t have to be, but it can. It is simply advisable. Afterwards, it’s too late.

Originally, the idea was to move the WC behind the kitchen. So something like this:

You have to imagine the windows now. I dared to place the island on the other side, even though you said

If you're already tweaking the kitchen, you could now juggle between the hallway and the kitchen until both have the desired size. So maybe the kitchen gets pushed a bit bigger and the door is moved:

Even if you don’t immediately see it on the sketch, the kitchen is now a bit bigger - but the hallway is a bit narrower. Turning the door, however, doesn’t look that pleasing. A matter of taste.

both thumbs way up!!! The hallway area looks great! I will forward the suggestions to my husband! On the right side of the plan, above the stairs, there is a shaft that must stay there, but that certainly wouldn't affect feasibility! I would have to clarify the relocation of the toilet with the architect. Relocating the island would of course mean losing the large window, but I can well imagine a floor-to-ceiling window between the rows and one flush with the countertop of the island! Of course, I have no objection to a few more centimeters and the width of the kitchen! But I agree with you on the door position... but some compromises have to be made.
