That would be too dark for me again. I know, photo and all. I can deal with that as a photographer. Basically, the corners are too dark for me.

I intentionally underexposed it to make it atmospheric. The exposure set on the furniture looks like this.... it is normally bright in the living room. Not flooded with light, of course, and that was not desired either, as it is the south and west side. Especially in summer, it is very pleasant in the living room without having to close the blinds or curtains all day long.

That can also be phrased nicer or more neutrally. Somehow it reads like "you better". Next time please address directly "@ypg" then a direct question will work. The floor plan is not up for debate. It's just not "my" house. Personally, I don't like windowsills or bars in the panes. But here it fits the house and the OP's wishes. And if he is satisfied and shows his villa here, then he is also ready for controversy. If it were my house, rented or whatever, I would furnish it brighter, yes. Since I personally have far more windows in the dining area of our house, you can then again go with somewhat darker furniture. Dark furniture absorbs light. Light reflects it. I would always try to optimize a room according to its use – regardless of furniture style. Stylish furniture is also available in light colors, and mirrors do their part. The living area looks more harmonious.

Above the fireplace there will be a suitable antique/Empire mirror. It is just hard to find the exact right mirror in width and height. This will also reflect light again. Of course dark furniture absorbs light. But we like dark woods and antique furniture, as there are many heirlooms involved. The color scheme is brown, black, old pink. Light furniture does not fit our style... except a light/white couch. But with a small child, that is currently unrealistic.

Darker furniture visually recedes somewhat, while light furniture stands out more. For this reason, I chose a black kitchen. Not because the kitchen itself is so beautiful, but because, in my opinion, it suits the room better and takes a step back. I think the living room is great. I would paint a strip of lighter green behind the display cabinet, then it would be really nice for me. :) A guitar dresses up any room, just like a piano or a cello or books. :)

The books are in the study and guest room... where there is also a guitar and amplifier
