Now would be a good time to think about what all needs to go in there. Four people, for example, need more hot water than two. Gas heating usually requires less space than a heat pump, and so on. You can find all the technical data and dimensions for each device on the internet. For large appliances, you always need clearance to the wall so the technician can connect everything and easily access it in case of problems. There are special regulations to consider for space in electrical installations, and where the cables come in and go out also ultimately plays a role. Before you know it, the room is too small...

We have that too. It was an option for us. Doing it as a compulsion, no. Our utility room is 16 sqm + space under the stairs without laundry

Drinks stay in the garage for half the year, because in winter the utility room is too warm.
Groceries kitchen, through the front door a) 1 door less b) it doesn't draft as much when the balcony door is open and the doors don't slam
When the trash bin has to go to the street or be brought in, or the mailbox is emptied, it goes through the front door.

Then you have to build bigger! Many things are practical – you just don’t have to have everything because you can’t pay for everything.

Also need storage space: broom, mop, vacuum cleaner, handheld vacuum cleaner, window cleaner, dryer for wool/sports/hand wash, laundry hamper, space for ironing board and basket with clean laundry, washing machine, dryer (preferably stacked), cleaning supplies, electrical kitchen appliances (fondue set, roasting pan, deep fryer, baking molds), canning jars, freezer or beverage cooler, shoe cleaning supplies, recycling bags, beverage bottles (crates, juice), some few supplies, bags and sacks for shopping, decoration stuff (2 boxes Christmas decorations, 1 box Easter, 1 box general), wrapping paper, office folders, writing stuff, office supplies, red light lamp, medication, photo equipment, hobby stuff (badminton set, fishing rod and stuff like that must stay outside), manual tools, drill, cordless drill, a few paint buckets, white paint, brush and roller, electrical things, light bulbs, batteries, vases, spare cutlery, picnic basket, small step ladder, 2-3 flower pots, empties, dog food, cat litter box, 15 liters emergency water, sewing machine, fabric scraps, plant sprayer, suitcase, travel and sports bag, carpet and tile leftovers, etc.
You can probably eliminate 2-3 things, but I very likely forgot some things too.
And now you come with your

and what if you come home with children? Then 4 hooks go up? And scooter with baby stroller over the whites laundry? (setting aside the fact that you want to convert the bathroom into a utility room because the utility room is being turned into a corridor)
And the corridor is for guests who might come?

Please think again about your living habits.

Nope. What is that? We have a 21m³ cistern outside the door. Does that count too?
