But then there would only be about 3 meters from the wall behind the TV to the sofa, so it wouldn't be too tight by the dining table.

Your priorities will definitely change with kids, so I hope you planned the electrical work in such a way that you still have alternatives and can simply rearrange anytime. And the window for the child on the north side is probably just due to the exterior view. For the children's room, I would actually have added (additionally?) a west-facing window like in the other one.

We did that too, we also planned enough sockets there and we have provided 2 network and TV sockets.
