The best place for a successful interior design of a living room, where the cabinet is not meant to be the focus or eye-catcher (like a display cabinet, for example), is behind the door. It saves space and is not disturbing. I agree with Kerstin and Katja: 3.20 meters is too narrow for a double bed with access. The older you get, the more you appreciate the space at the side. Glass wall and light in the TV area, ... ... artificial light at the living area, the dining table, where you do crafts, schoolwork, sit at the laptop, do your bookkeeping and eat lunch... as you wish, so be it. I would still take 20 cm from the utility room for the bathroom. This tubular entrance to the bathroom is not exactly nice, inviting or practical. I find the space for the wardrobe good. Hallway width as well. If the children are supposed to use the guest bathroom, then the entrance door should be without a window. It is simply uncomfortable, feels like going to the toilet on display. Utilization of the house orientation (south/west) is not successful, but the bathroom is in the south. ...

Yes, a window does not illuminate endlessly into the depth. If you have very deep rooms, it will eventually become dark again. The puke limit starts at about 5 to 6m. And you have that depth. So in the morning and evening you only have a dim light at the dining table. You always have to turn on artificial light. Your architect had a reason to light the side walls of the bay window as well.

Haha, the shape of the ceiling does not change the lack of light. How can anyone come up with such an idea? And we are not even talking about artificial light here. If that was the only issue, one could just live in the basement.

It's a pity that Child 2 now only has a north-facing window. I would have placed that on the west side. The living room would also be too dark for me; in the original floor plan, it was nicer with windows on the left and right. The architect surely designed the central bay window specifically to allow lighting from three sides. However, furnishing the square room is indeed difficult.

There are frosted glasses there, so you can't see directly inside.

Well, we are already in the shell construction and shortly before laying the screed. We were there at all sorts of times of the day and have to say it really isn't dark.

Yes, of course natural lighting is great, I can understand that. However, we would then have real problems arranging the living room. Because one would still want a display cabinet here or a shelf there. This is how we arranged it so that it basically fits. And if one then still has to turn on a lamp, it’s not that tragic, is it?

However, we are still considering whether to place the dining table crosswise in front of the glass facade and position the TV on the lower floor with the sofa essentially in the middle of the room. We are still undecided about what fits best.

Yes. Put the dining table by the window. The television does not need daylight.
