Criticism still explicitly welcome

Of course, I don’t want to repeat all discussions. But if you notice that every new reader criticizes the same things, that should give you something to think about.

We don’t want a sightline from the entrance through the entire hall and find this arrangement nice, even if it costs space.

Above all, it also costs light. That will be a dark long tunnel. Didn’t you want a straight staircase especially to avoid falling? Without light, in my opinion, you fall even faster.

The development plan explicitly excludes ancillary facilities such as carports/storage rooms/garden sheds outside the development boundaries.

One would have liked to read that in #1 among the specifications of the development plan.

I am just wondering what is worse. The dark corridor on the ground floor or this bathroom. For me, this is a sign that you cannot really comprehend the plan. I would recommend a 3D house animation, preferably with alternatives, to get a feeling for it.

Although I think that a depth of 40 (possibly on both sides) will serve the purpose, we actually don’t need 60 there.

You are building a room with the purpose of storing something. You spend tens of thousands of euros on it. Then it should also fulfill the purpose. Such a closet is at least 60 deep. If you prefer to do 40, that’s okay. But you don’t close off the option for proper use because of that.

I have to disagree. The dining area is, as seen in the plan (this time I have measured), 4.10 m wide, which we already consider almost too large. The drawn dining table and especially the chairs (more like armchairs) are indeed huge, so the proportions might be misleading, but there is plenty of space, even when considering that the central passage goes through the living/kitchen/dining area.

I have to disagree as well. Yes, the area is sufficient for a dining space. The problem is that it is located in the walking paths to the living room and (attention!) to the terrace. That means you need additional space in front and behind it to get to the terrace with the doors open. For that, it is rather tight. The terrace doors apparently are not arranged according to walking paths but according to aesthetics. Accordingly, you need every centimeter there. I'm not saying it’s impossible. It’s just very cramped.

This is actually already our current favorite, except for a bit of optimization. I think we will arrange the positioning of the elements like this.

I can only agree with the previous critics, a maximum narrow washbasin and an absolute bottleneck between the washbasin and the bathtub to get into the bathroom there. And the storage room consumes 5.5 sqm. Overall, I could roughly imagine a layout like this. Windows/doors would still need to be adjusted a bit better. Orange = storage room without window, yellow = shower, blue = washbasin, which with an even better door position could be extended along the entire wall and at the top of the plan could also end with a tall cabinet.

For God's sake: Well-intentioned advice and tips that you do not take up because you cannot grasp their meaning or are resistant to advice are lukewarm at best. Basically, one can only repeat a lot again. But endless loops like Groundhog Day are so terrible. Then so be it! You will notice the terrace access issue, but there's no use denying it.

Today there is the first proper status update from the construction site, because earthworks began yesterday morning. Since the ground needs to be excavated deeper than initially expected, we will probably need an additional 100 m³ of sand (250 m³ in total). However, part of the excavation can at least be reused after mixing and compaction. We are still coordinating the offers for plumbing and electrical work, but otherwise, almost everything in the planning is finished. The house should be ready for occupancy by the end of January 2026 at the latest.
