Thanks for the suggestion :) So basically, it doesn't "have to" be a staircase with a landing. What we simply like better about the staircase with a landing is the higher safety for the children. Our little one is about 3 years old when we move in, and a second child is planned. Therefore, it is important to us that the staircase is as safe as possible. That's why we also want a closed staircase, for example. With a spiral staircase, the issue is that the steps in the stairwell are significantly narrower, and therefore there is a greater risk of a child tumbling down. That’s why we basically prefer a staircase with a landing. But it does not have to be forced.

Our architect also sent her design today. However, we currently like Katja's design better. The orientation seems to be better solved there.

That is not correct. The landing also has advantages, but no increased safety for children, on the contrary… … unless you take battle dimensions. The landing stops your movement, you practically have to turn around. That carries the risk. A double-spiral staircase has a continuous flow. My granddaughter understood such a staircase immediately and zips up and down it. Namely where the steps are narrower, because it matches her feet better. Adults take the steps on the outer side. Your landing staircase will probably only be manageable by the little ones at a slow, sluggish pace, because the steps are too wide for small feet. By the way, trampolines are more dangerous than stairs when more than one child is jumping ;)

Hm, ok, we thought that the narrower steps increase the risk of slipping. What advantages does the landing staircase have then? Primarily appearance?

…. You only fall halfway when you fall.

I think people overthink it too much. Children are flexibility personified.

And then only with a handrail? Look, the "harp" or vertical bars on the railing have the advantage that the child can hold on and secure themselves at any height everywhere.

Me too! The architect's is somehow lackluster and far too much oriented to the north.

... and the orientation towards the north doesn't have to be bad.

I don't think the design is bad at all.
