Budget:
Additionally, there is some equity available (approx. +100k), which is invested in ETFs / stocks.
The idea at the time of low interest rates was not to touch the money and keep it invested.
I have since reconsidered that.
Regarding the monthly burden, we could take out 700k.
As mentioned, we are just at the beginning and I am trying to gather as much information as possible.
The process towards the final floor plan / house will of course not be linear; I have already planned one "castle in the air" and learned from it.
As in post #4, we roughly imagine the floor plan, with its pros and cons.
Unfortunately, I have not yet built a house ;), so I am of course posting here in the forum to have the floor plan / our ideas / supposed pros and cons evaluated.
In the living room, your corner sofa is positioned with its back to the floor-to-ceiling windows, so you always have to darken the room when watching Netflix or Prime (reflection of the windows in the TV, or neighbors watching along).
Our logic is the other way around: view out to the garden, furniture to the side, TV between the terrace doors
That was already a thought; in my opinion, a corner window would have to be planned so that there is still space left for the living room wall.
- Does it not cause glare when it is bright outside and the window is right next to the TV?
- Are there disadvantages that one would have to accept with a corner window (thermal bridges, steel post rust?, costs, etc.)?
