But the people in TV commercials just look like their happiness specifically comes from that kind of gadgetry :)

It's kind of like a recirculation line for hot water in the bathroom. Turn on the tap, the water is immediately warm. You don't really need it, it's just comfort. With the fridge, you have more space in the cooling compartment and it basically costs nothing to connect to the mains water. You also don't need a car with over 200 horsepower, but some buy one anyway. I use the fresh water from the fridge about 15 times a day, more often than many other things in the house. I find Wi-Fi for microwave and stove very silly. You can use it too, but I never do.

I will never understand why people have a sink with a water connection in the bathroom just to wash their hands once or twice a day. A bucket of water is more than enough. :D

Just kidding! You can debate whether you need something like this and apply that argument to every square meter, number of windows, sockets, light switches, electric blinds, kids’ bathrooms, dressing rooms, etc. in your houses….

If this thing could also do sparkling water, it would be perfect!

No way, they won't get on my network. I don't need ransom emails demanding Bitcoin or my food will stay cold ;-)

Well, the good devices basically don’t exist anymore without it. But you don’t have to connect them to your WiFi.
Still, I’d rather spend less and do without wlan connectivity.
