I find this question... I’m not exactly sure how; anyway strange!

We have a Nivona®, because we were annoyed, expensively annoyed, with Jura®. Conclusion after 2 years of use: very good coffee, only regular maintenance, BUT: at least twice a day refill the small water tank, empty the drip tray (both were larger with Jura). I gladly accept that, because the Nivona® is really excellently made and we no longer pay ridiculously for Jura® flat rates.

My washing machine is in the basement; right next to it the dryer. In nice weather I walk a good 25.00 m until I reach the clothesline: by the way about the same distance until I reach our garden retreat.

The water tank of the SG holds 3 liters, is very easy to remove and, unlike our previous model, very easy to clean. Since I alone drink 3 l of water per day – provided we are at home – I have to fill the tank daily. The distance from the fridge to the sink is 2.00 meters; not terribly far then. I myself have not yet complained that I have to get up for my ice cubes in my soda.

Should I really list now how much time I literally spend in the kitchen (if I find time to cook) or did the doorbell ring?

If you want to be spoiled with all the comforts like Nero did back then, it takes a lot of staff or you walk. The good thing about it: every trip keeps you slim; not the worst alternative for desk/work-table types/car-heavy drivers

Rhenish greetings

Well roared, lion, the question with comfort is simply where it ends. After all, you also use the washing machine - maybe rubbing the clothes on the washboard would keep you even fitter?

Well – I can somewhat understand the question. Especially if you’re still deciding between a water line or a tank.

A water line is a bit more convenient. Also, the space the tank occupies (1/2 door compartment) can be used otherwise. Plus, you don’t have to clean the tank. But for that, you either have to install an additional line through the kitchen or have another water connection made (our water connection is for the sink and dishwasher).
(Could there be a risk of Legionella with long lines and possibly several weeks of vacation? I don’t know – I heard something like that once.) It is also recommended to run the standing water out of the pipes after a long vacation.

Possibly, if I had guessed that the water dispenser would actually be used intensively (before, I mostly drank sparkling water), we would have had a line installed right away.

Therefore – if you’re still before the purchase, you can already think about the pros and cons of a decision. And who better to ask than someone who has already made the purchase.

If you keep going like this, I can soon sketch your house from various threads.

Hello Frank,

I hope not; I know that can be a downside of too much publicity... if I'm not careful. So far, I only publish what I believe I can stand by. That's why, for example, there is no picture of the fridge in its place.

The good thing about it all, however, is - we are planning 'back to the roots'; which also means moving again

Rhenish greetings

Morning.

I don't find the question that strange. Almost every question here revolves around the comfort of floor plans, furnishings, building technology, etc.

Regards
Chris

We are also looking for an American refrigerator, so I would like to bring up the topic again. We tend to prefer a refrigerator with a water tank, or has anyone had any experience with that? We would appreciate some experiences and also model suggestions.
