Should the refrigerator be freestanding or integrated?

The smaller the more economical, even if the energy rating is worse. The absolute energy consumption of large appliances is usually higher than that of smaller ones. Also, a full fridge is more efficient than an empty one (because the cold air is lost every time you open it, but the cold crate of beer is still inside). Also, you throw away less because you can't forget as much "at the back". Therefore my tip: fridge as small as possible (for us 1.60m for three people, fridge/freezer combo), no chest freezer, additional party fridge in the utility room (which really should only run a maximum of 4 weeks a year). Oh, and: choose manufacturers whose names you have already heard in connection with fridges. Mobile phone manufacturers still have to prove that they can build appliances with 20+ years of service life.

Which mobile phone manufacturers do you mean.

Hmm, I thought more the other way around.
We now have a regular built-in refrigerator, I rather have the feeling that more gets thrown away because you stuff it full and don’t even see what’s at the back.
With a bigger one, I imagine a better overview.

Samsung and various Chinese companies.

Your theory is also good - and certainly works well with disciplined people. HOWEVER, I would still stuff a refrigerator twice as big and then definitely forget even more old stuff...

Currently AEG induction with +- buttons. That works very well and nothing gets hot. I find the “sliders” the worst because they are imprecise. Holding a finger on plus or minus is easier. Neff pad is great and will probably be the next one. Integrated refrigerator smaller than 177cm leads to poor selection options. From 177cm all the usual combinations are available.

Does it have to be flexfield or is normal sufficient?
