It’s more about presenting different perspectives. A forum thrives on (also subjective) exchange. The OP can now read your view, my view, and hopefully many more to form a differentiated picture. For example, I wouldn’t know why I should draw water from the fridge if I can just turn on the tap for cold water (outside of summer).

Some people just prefer to drink water at 4° rather than 10° or even 15° cold (warm). Even though that is probably not so good medically.

That's exactly why I mentioned it.

And has already named one reason, it is cooler. The second reason (for us) is the filter.

Just buy a fresh water line and a Y valve. We also planned our refrigerator with a fixed water connection; there is nothing more comfortable, we use the water dispenser every day. But why didn’t you include this connection in the kitchen planning right away? Then the plumber could have installed it there immediately.

Especially since these refrigerators offer a lot of space and are cheaper than built-in appliances. But remember, they protrude about 10cm in front of the kitchen cabinets.

I will never understand who the hell consumes so many ice cubes that they need their own water connection :-D

We also use a lot of ice cubes in summer. For daily cooling of the 5-liter water dispenser, for example, and also for other things. But 2 ice cube trays in the freezer compartment are enough.

I don’t know how maintenance-intensive such a refrigerator with an ice maker is, but I would save myself the effort and the money.
