please don’t be mad – but for this "normal" model I wouldn’t put in the necessary effort. What if you decide later to buy a Side by Side combo?

As writes, it involves some effort, but it can be done. I tried to illustrate how it could look.

But then the overlay strip would be recessed relative to the wall - right, Sigi? That would also create a different effect than the frame of the utility room door.

To be honest, I think that's a crazy idea, especially if it means making a standard door lower than usual.

And on the next try, the 202 cm high stand-alone won't fit into the niche.

@ Construction expert: Actually, the idea came about because I didn't want to spoil the nice long work surface under the windows with such a "refrigerator monster." The refrigerator (no matter which one) simply looks disturbing
