Yes, the hose should always be as short as possible, no matter what you connect in relation to foodstuffs such as drinking water. A fixed connection is always better; the tank causes even more problems (cleaning, odors, limited quantity).

The line bursting is more than unlikely, as 1/4 inch hoses with the corresponding connectors used in pneumatics and hydraulics are used here. These usually withstand significantly higher pressures and also fit very well in the fittings. User error is disregarded.

ok thanks

but is the hose length of 150-200cm (which is already calculated very generously) maximum still acceptable? or would we already have to consider having a separate concealed water connection installed next to the refrigerator?

between the refrigerator and the sink (under the sink is the fixed water connection) there is a 60cm dishwasher and a 60cm cabinet

10m are also not a problem. The frequency of use is decisive.

You can also branch off behind the Aquastop, then it protects everything. The flow rate is sufficient, all devices always need less and less water.

I would take the tank, if the water stands too long in the hose, you can very easily cultivate germs. Especially in the nice warm area behind electrical devices.

I have a side-by-side with a water connection and it is excellent. During the renovation, I specifically had a water connection installed. Namely, in a loop to the washing machine in the basement to ensure sufficient flow. However, I basically use the side-by-side daily, so there are no problems. I also have a Soda Stream and take cold water for it from the refrigerator. If I remember correctly, 30cm branch lines are officially still allowed. With daily use, 150cm is not a problem.
