I also still see "need for clarification" there. But whatever: the first draft will be revised, and this goes on until everything fits. As long as the problem is not optimized, the draft is not mature!
Is that to be understood as criticism or do you think that we are on a pretty good path with the draft?
Further remarks: EG - Sliding door into the kitchen is impractical. Opening it with the elbow like that does not work. - The island with the wall panorama bothered me already in the first drafts: you look at the wall while cooking... or TV? I don't think anyone from the family would sit there to entertain the cook ;) A counter is not that comfortable. - Regarding the sofa corner: also check if the tiny table matches your ideas. Otherwise, it will be quite tight between sofa and TV, behind the sofa there is free space (for crawling kids who love that) - Personally, the long corridor would bother me, but you have to and can live with it if you want a closed kitchen. - Cloakroom would be too small for 4 people for me. You reasonably calculate 60 cm width per person... OG - Swap shower and tub so that you have peace while bathing. - Washbasin not opposite the window, because then you cast shadows on yourself and always need artificial light. - Plan the bathtub immediately in the correct size and possibly with pedestals. Include pre-wall installations. Laundry room is great. Possibly built-in cupboards still need to be added in the offices for storage, as it looks a bit sparse.
Sliding door hall - kitchen: True, you are right, a sliding door does not make sense there.
Island with wall panorama: Well, if you have a completely normal kitchen row, you also look at a wall. And you usually spend more time in front of the sink anyway, that's why the view out of the window is more important to us. A TV connection is planned on the wall opposite, but whether we will actually use it directly we do not yet know.
Tiny coffee table: That is the coffee table we currently have. We are quite happy with the size (67 x 67). And the distance between sofa and TV results from the size of our TV and the associated optimal sitting distance.
Long corridor: You are right that it is not perfect, but as you said yourself, you have to live with it if you want a large closed kitchen. And that is definitely more important to us.
Cloakroom: Thanks for the hint. We need to look again at how/if that can be solved.
The hints for the upper floor are also very helpful, thank you very much!
True! It does not make a spacious impression on me either now. There are just a bunch of rooms...
But that is exactly the point. We want two offices, two utility rooms, and a large closed kitchen. Accordingly, the other rooms cannot be much bigger than those in a 150 sqm house. Maybe I do not understand what you mean by "spacious". Do you have examples of similar floor plans that you consider successful?
Positioning speakers around the couch on stands would be the only apparent option in this draft, but that would really be nothing for me with kids. Then maybe really execute the backs "only" as high and integrate them in the ceiling, angled towards the listener as far as possible.
That will probably be the outcome.. However, it still applies that the sofa should not stand with its back against a wall.
Generally a step forward! However, it still seems rather cramped and not generous, I agree with that tenor. For example >7m corridor on the ground floor like a long tube without further use. A practical point for me would be that the windows and doors have so much distance to the walls that a cupboard can be placed behind (>65cm), especially tech and office rooms are very close to the walls. Cloakroom with ~1.4m is not generous, where is storage planned for shoes? The two light bands at the stairs will be very narrow, can be intentional, otherwise I would use a wider element.
Corridor = long tube: As said, we probably have to accept that with a closed kitchen.
Cloakroom: We have to think about it again.
We like the two light bands from the Viebrockhaus Edition 600, so we adopted that.
I would swap tech room and WC according to the direction of the stairs, then you can make a larger room out of tech and storage space under the stairs.
Thanks for the hint! That is really a great idea!
Floor-to-ceiling windows in the kids’ rooms obviously cannot be used/opened on the plan. The 1.8m sliding door of the kitchen cannot be opened or the door stands beyond the corner because the wall above the door is shorter than the required 90cm. I’m a bit surprised that if she is an interior designer, I would have expected such points with cupboard placements etc. to be very consciously considered.
I admit that I was not completely precise when redrawing the plans and did not pay attention to every detail. I did not place the sliding door to the kitchen exactly, but overall the wall is 405 cm long, so a 180 cm sliding door can be accommodated.
On the wall in the draft shown here it is unfortunately difficult to impossible, because if they come "behind" alias 7.1, the next wall is the one in the dining room at about 5 m distance and on the sides there is once the living room door in the way. For 5.1 the "angled wall" could be used, but then the speaker would sit on the left in the sliding door. Therefore the possibility at "ear height" here would be only with stands or else go "up" into a suspended ceiling, frieze, sail, whatever. I deliberately set the "post" between living room window and dining room window to about 100°, that coincidentally fits quite well with the rest. On the other side in the wall I have to see if we can still leave a niche at a suitable place, otherwise the speaker would probably grudgingly go on a sideboard. We apparently have a node :( good 5 m width, good 2.6 m room height, let’s see if a ceiling sail can get it under control a bit.
It would work on the wall if you take the first suggestion from #34. But that of course has other weaknesses (wasted space behind the sofa and no view of the garden from the sofa).
We do not subordinate everything to the topic "home cinema," but would like to get speakers behind/above the sofa. Another idea would be to arrange the sofa as follows. What do you think? Please consider only the living room; I have not adjusted the rest yet. We actually find using the sofa as a room divider quite charming.
