Wow, lots of information again, great!
In advance: finished exterior walls are 344.5mm and interior walls 172mm (load-bearing).
A 3-part sliding door is a brilliant idea, we’ll see what we can find. But it must not be made of aluminum-glass.
We already tried the 3rd gable only in the dressing room. It looks very appealing from the outside but wastes a lot of space in the relatively small children's rooms. And from the front of the house, I can’t really tell if the gables are aligned or offset.
Please don’t forget that we have a finished knee wall without a parapet of about 60-70cm (depending on how high the carpenter can make the wall plate) and only from 1.44m full 2m room height is available.
Thanks Kaho for your effort with the redraw. Brilliant! I also like the upper floor very much, but a few small comments from me: It should be quite difficult to bring a couch into K1 / K2. We actually want to avoid a wardrobe in the bedroom as much as possible. Windows on the upper floor should not be floor-to-ceiling. I also believe their positions won’t match the actual roof slope. Roof windows instead of larger gables will of course be a bit cheaper.
Concerning the windows on the ground floor: One side in the dining room should have a fixed glazing of 2.35mx2.30m. On the kitchen side a 3m wide lift-and-slide door with a 1.5m fixed element. We initially had kitchen windows each 2m wide, but then couldn’t fit any tall cabinets into the kitchen anymore, so the window on the front door side was reduced. In the living room, a couch arrangement where one part is rotated 90 degrees towards the TV is an absolute no-go. Since we rarely have guests, that part would just be dead space. Our current couch’s external dimensions are: width/height/depth: 283/73/143 cm. Also, I don’t know how good it is when watching TV in the evening after work with the sun shining directly onto the screen from behind. On the other hand, on weekends you get nice daylight to read on the couch (my girlfriend does that a lot). Rooms where you can see the seating position directly from the door are generally perceived as less cozy/comfy. How wide is the hallway downstairs for you? It seems quite narrow to me. Better to try to make the bathroom full length then. Attached is a picture of how we currently have the living room (terrible with the window behind the TV). The distance between the subwoofer on the left and right sides is 4.5m. It could be compressed to 4m, but that’s already the maximum. So, in the floor plan, we are missing a few centimeters everywhere.
Regarding the kitchen island: that would mean the window on one side of the kitchen would completely disappear?
would you be so kind as to tell me which 3D program you use? Sketchup always takes forever for me.
