Congratulations on your new home!
Regarding insurance, I would always ask the insurance company directly. We are also with HUK and they actually have good service. The pipes inside the house are insured to my knowledge; for everything else, you have to see. I believe that due to the age of the pipes, the insurance for the pipes between the house and the property boundary was excluded for us. However, if we had a tightness test done, that would also be possible. We just haven't done that so far. Built in 1921 and apparently still original pipes up to the house. The prices seem reasonable to me for a simple to medium standard (which we also have). I don't know much about balcony renovation. But I do know that you need a careful company for that because the sealing must be flawless. Friends of ours have had serious problems with that on their house as well.
What’s the next step, what’s the plan? I always find renovations really exciting; ours was quite fun, or rather, we are still not completely finished yet.
I am now in the final phase regarding the evaluation of the individual offers, trying to coordinate everything and, of course, continuing to work on the house in parallel. Two more days and then we will have completely removed all the wallpaper. Then we want to dig up the downspouts in the garden and assess their condition. Next, insulating the attic and knocking off the old plaster in the basement.
Regarding the windows, I had a great offer from the company Löwe here as a local provider. €18,500. A carpenter and building elements guy, whom I got recommended by a former colleague, does it for €3,000 less. Löwe is a relatively high-priced local provider; the carpenter offered me Rehau Synego windows. Do you have any experience regarding the quality here?
