Sounds good! Very nice house, there's a lot you can do with it - best of luck moving forward!

Everything above the basement will definitely be very nice, downstairs we still have a lot to do. The electrical wiring in the basement was partly installed flush and partly surface-mounted, but the walls need to be replastered, as quite a bit of moisture came through. It's just an old house.

So, yesterday I was at the house. The house has now been completely plastered and what was supposed to be wallpapered has also been wallpapered. The guys were really on the ball. Now it will be painted white once more and finished. We have now decided on a 1 mm [Scheibenputz]. Next week, the pre-assembled radiators will be connected and the electrician will do the final installation of the electrical system. From [10.08] I have 3 weeks of vacation, then the floor will be laid by ourselves.

A question regarding this: The screed has small unevennesses, grooves here and there, caused by the removal of the previous floor. Can I compensate for this with a foil laid floating, or does it need another layer of filler/smoothing compound?

Best regards

Holes are simple: fill them in.

Everything else depends on your new floor structure. What’s going on top?

For waves and bulges upwards, one would need to know how high they are. Place a long spirit level over it; more than 1-2 millimeters per meter of unevenness is not good, in that case I would pour leveling compound over it again, or you can try to remove material locally. There are milling discs for angle grinders.

There are no bulges or even waves. The old top layer was glued with black adhesive. When we removed this old floor, unevenness occurred due to the adhesive strength, but actually nothing dramatic.

We plan to install floating parquet on a combination (vapor barrier + impact sound insulation).

next project completed.

top floor ceiling insulated. I'm curious about the summer/winter effect and potential cost savings.

We invested €1200 and did everything ourselves.

[Vapor barrier foil + perimeter insulation strip]
8cm Styrofoam installed vertically and 6cm Styrofoam installed horizontally above, so a total of 14 cm. Above that, OSB panels glued with tongue and groove and adhesive, looks neat.

I'll take another look at the dormers, as the previous owner had installed mineral wool there. I will probably lay my leftover mineral wool + [underlay membrane] and [vapor barrier] here.
