Why not? Apart from the fact that I didn’t know the topic was settled, your question is about what makes your thoughts/drafts/plans particularly good or bad. And my opinion is that this apartment and the imbalance of the spatial situation with only one bedroom in the main apartment make the plan particularly bad.

It’s not at all about whether one has been or is in that situation… it’s about space usage or waste. Maybe you should also read through all the posts. In principle, Katja also sees the granny flat here critically.

Yes, but the use of space that currently envisions can also be made more cost-effective through other measures. I had already written that I would think more on one level here, combining wet cells for wellness and guests, reconsidering room sizes for both wellness and cooking/dining and living. The granny flat could also easily be smaller than the currently estimated 43+8 (bathroom) sqm.

I would also limit the hobby workshop to a real workshop and plan the car accommodation with a carport or garage independently of the house.

I think the next step here should really be a local architect who can also address the open issues regarding approval possibilities.

I like the idea of letting the terrace follow the sun’s path, so you optionally have shaded or sunny spots available all day... depending on the current temperature ;).

We wanted to create a terrace that includes East, South, and also West – morning sun while having breakfast coffee, midday sun yes, but not directly at the large window front of the open space, and evening sun when we face the garden. Do we have a flaw in our thinking here?

I would not necessarily implement that as one large terrace, but rather with several seating options distributed around the garden.

Where exactly we will place the house on the plot is still open and also depends on the building authority. We determined the height reference point from sea level (NN) using Earth, and the rest of the terrain profile through on-site measurements.

Before building the house in this form, or similarly large, think it over yourselves. You will then be a slave to a huge house, with cleaning, tidying, maintenance, and garden care. We faced the same decision, it became a 3-room bungalow without a basement, barrier-free, with a sauna. On weekends we were 12 people, there is room for everyone, there are exactly 6 sleeping places. You probably don't need more than that. For that, there are guesthouses or holiday apartments. Among acquaintances with huge houses, people increasingly retreat to fewer rooms, the rest is just cluttered and filled, of course with gold dust. If you add a garage and heat it, it is sufficient either for the hobby or the car.
