I completely agree with you. Only the OP really wants the granny flat and his hobby. The basement is also suitable because there is a bit of a slope.

Show the OP your floor plan.

You can see it that way... but you don't have to. We are currently happy that we can plan something bigger and have a lot of free space - which we don't want to clutter up (we lack the gold dust for that anyway ) Also space for our children when they come to visit with grandchildren someday. Apart from the money, there are pros and cons to building big or small, everyone has to decide that for themselves. I can understand everyone who prefers to clean more but also have more space.

Thanks again for the great feedback, we have now also realized that we are much too big. We will take a closer look at the "what do we really need." What we have already learned, the idea of the garage in the house is definitely no longer up-to-date and will be discarded.

Your house looks really inviting, you did a great job. You don’t have a slope or a granny flat, we still have to integrate that. Unfortunately, not all house dimensions can be read, roughly we are at about 130m² floor area?

Don't get me wrong, but we simply have certain wishes/requirements for the house that we do not want to discuss. This includes the granny flat, the wellness area, and the workshop area. How it all looks in the end, how big it will be, and how it is integrated into the house, we are open to, but it must be part of the planning.

Yes, 125m² floor space, and that is comfortably manageable for the two of us.
We wanted to create a feeling like a holiday home for ourselves, open and filled with light.
We could have gone bigger, much bigger, we had that before.
Just take the opportunity to build your house to suit you.
Tiny houses and camper vans also often appeal to us, so small can be nice for us.
