Hello,
If you just read here in the forum how many people have a hillside property, I doubt that 90% have a perfectly flat, rectangular plot - but that is also an assumption on my part.
This assumption is correct. Excluding hillside locations, there are hardly any plots that are really level; the eye can't really detect height differences. For one, 30 cm of topsoil are missing, for another, 80 cm of soil have to be removed, in past years at some point an owner created a pond or the friendly neighbor across the street "borrowed" some soil. There is really hardly a situation on a plot that I haven't experienced yet. Plots where *only* the topsoil has to be stripped are rare.
And no, my house is not standard - at least in its structure (certainly not inside). I wouldn’t have gotten that from any "well-known" house building company...
That depends on your definition of standard. If I go purely by the looks, we have it in the standard, the red colleague, Gussek Haus and many others likewise. One as a real dormer, another as executed at your house, and yet another as a barrel dormer or with a flat roof. There are countless ways to change the appearance of a house while maintaining the actual standard. Inside, every single-family house looks different anyway; even the supposed run-of-the-mill standard.
By the way, the appearance your house has was introduced years ago by Haacke Haus®; however, with a classic city villa. So every reputable provider could have built your single-family house; it’s not particularly difficult. Whether you could have contributed as much equity as you did is another matter.
I just wanted to express that you can also build with 3500-4000€ net if the plots are affordable.
Plots are unfortunately currently the problem; only then come the construction costs. Regarding this, on both sides of the coin, it still looks much better with you in MV; enjoy that.
Rhenish greetings
