Yes, up to the stage of a shell house. The rest is carried out by us through individual contracts. Although our GU is probably more of a construction manager (BU). Structural and civil engineering comes from a single source.

You know I don’t mention any names here. Regional construction company, not Massa Haus or anything like that.

I didn’t want to know whether his name was Müller or Meier either, and I read from your answer the confirmation of my secret suspicion that the planner is probably employed by the general contractor, so not an independently commissioned freelance architect who would have properly prepared the awarding of contracts. The draftsman probably didn’t plan anything concerning the finishing trades either—so neither detailed drawings nor quantity surveys and assessments. On their own like that, it unfortunately can’t become a proper tender. You have to have quite a bit of extra money then, namely the so-called tuition fees.

That is correct, the "Zeichenknecht" was included. Choosing an architect freely was not possible. But we are not complete laymen. My husband is a civil engineer and feels confident handling the tender including awarding the contract. If we were completely "industry outsiders," we would not have done the expansion house project. And as I have read here in the forum several times, it was actually the architects themselves who misjudged their cost estimates.
