Yes, it's not about trivialities. But if, for example, there was a dispute over incorrect window opening measurements about who would pay for the changes or whether it was still within tolerance and a building stop depended on it, and then because there are no windows, the building suffers moisture damage and drying measures are necessary, then you might argue for a while. And yes, the damage won't be paid, but if the general contractor realizes there's ammunition behind it, he might not let it come to that and just quickly fixes it before the damage becomes that big.
