As you know, we are pursuing different approaches/floor plans with which we want to move forward in the planning. For this - the preferred floor plan - [occupied rooms facing west/garden], I have made some changes.

- there will probably be 2 terraces [south & west]
- all rooms located on the west side (top of the plan) will be equipped with a 1.40 m wide terrace door
- both corridors slightly shortened and entrance area reduced to 1.80 m wide
- entrance area with a canopy
- access to the utility room via an exterior door or interior door through the living area (my wife does not want access through the kitchen or guest WC)
- kitchen only has a terrace door without a window above the cooking island
- bathroom roughly sketched

Now it would be nice to get suggestions on how to achieve symmetry in the appearance

- West (top of the plan): the children's rooms are limited by the placement of the doors, but mirroring could also be done
- South (left of the plan): I can't think of anything except a wooden cladding between the kitchen exit and the terrace door, so a visual stylistic element

Further tips regarding additional empty conduits for a "worst-case" scenario requested
- plan would be at least 2 additional empty conduits in the utility room (short east side)

Otherwise, feel free to give the usual constructive feedback.

Thank you very much
M.

Let us share in your reasoning: why would you prefer to make the utility room accessible through the living room rather than anything else? Kitchen or (no longer existing) hallway? Where do you see the de why symmetry? And don’t say because it looks better now

I would have tended towards the kitchen too, it's just a compromise. Whether pantry/storage room or door to Hogwarts, it doesn't matter. It's just a door at the start of the path in the living area.

Where does the staircase actually lead to now? How large is the [DG]? Is there enough headroom? Roof pitch? Knee wall? Can the equipment go up there?

Good morning, it is a cold roof. See With a house length of just under 17m, there should be quite a bit of storage space. I do not have any numbers for this.

It is naturally suboptimal that the door to the living room must be closed to get to the utility room (e.g. for laundry). Here we still have the option to handle it via the guest bathroom. But we leave that to the architect.

With a house length of almost 17 meters: have you ever considered an L shape? That way you get more rooms facing South and West
You also won’t have a utility room door in the living room. The technology inside can be annoying if the door can’t be closed sometimes.
