That is exactly the reason why I warned against posting the floor plan. Even after the OP made it clear that there would be no major changes anymore, comments keep coming that only cause confusion. I personally find that really inappropriate.

Me too.

I have also been in two new architect-designed houses over the past few months where the architects themselves live.
I personally found both floor plans absolutely terrible.
Ours, which we completely planned ourselves, might not be perfect in 1-2 small places, but overall it just suits us perfectly.

That's nonsense. If he likes it so much, we can say whatever we want here, it doesn't bother him.
And if it's different, then there might be some truth to "could be significantly better."
The "GU architect" just basically gave up.

No. It's inappropriate to pretend that everything is great just because you think it's too late. First of all, it is not too late yet, and secondly, not everything is great at all. If you’re looking for self-affirmation, you can also ask Mom. Do you want to tell me that the entrance situation in the children's rooms is well solved? That the weird small pantry makes sense when you have a huge basement? That the dressing room is not way too small to be usable? That the bathroom, despite being sufficiently sized, is not poorly designed? That in a house that is actually not small, there are narrow hallways and corners everywhere? If he is sure, he doesn’t care. Yes, you will be able to live in the house as currently planned, no question. But you will still often shake your head and wonder what possessed you back then.

But everything is subjective. I find the pantry useful; I wouldn't want to have to go down to the basement for every little thing. Ours is only 1.5 sqm, and I wouldn't want to do without it. I don't find the dressing room unusable; you can easily get dressed in 90 cm.

I have now taken another look at the floor plans especially because of the concerns expressed (and murmured ;-) ) here and can say that they suit my taste, I like them and they could also come from me (except for the "privacy screen" in the bathroom, which we deliberately leave out in our house). My opinion is not a seal of quality and our floor plan was also rejected here in the forum, but that shows that only the residents themselves can say what they want and how, and with which solutions they feel comfortable. Maybe it also depends on how one lived as a child.
