The internet has a motion detector - every floor plan posted there is broadcasted by 82 million armchair experts; and whoever remains strong-willed may eventually be labeled as resistant to advice. If someone misassociates "collective intelligence" with each individual of these anonymous know-it-alls actually being smarter than the questioner, they should not enter internet forums without psychological support. But this coin has two sides, and my experience is one of a sometimes incredible gap between the textual descriptive skills of the questioners and the ideas of the discussants, which would never have been revealed without illustrations. That is why I always invite to show the drawings, even when it is already clear that this time I should not scold the draftsman. And in this case, this point must even be expressly praised once: 1. the self-design falls far behind the usual deficiencies of the otherwise proudly displayed "semifinal" amateur-planned ego shooter CAD Frankensteins and 2. the draftsman diligently copied instead of making things worse. On the client’s side, all essential scourges of floor plan planning have been avoided: squareness, symmetry, straight single-flight show staircases, sticking on the garage along with the dance around the golden calf of the inner door, two-story entrance halls with air space, sitcom TV kitchens, room-dividing fireplaces and whatever else would be indispensable to the McMansion hell Toscanabauhaus. So except for the bathroom layout that could be improved—but here the child has by far not fallen into the well yet—a cruelty-free design. Even proudly swelled "architects" have been seen here doing worse. What bothers me is that almost always, regardless of the question, a floor plan is requested. Only to then criticize it. Everyone always finds something if they just look for it. Apart from that, it is often highly subjective. And no matter how you personally find the floor plan, once criticism is expressed, you naturally become insecure. That is human nature. Especially if you believe that others supposedly know more.
