Is it cheaper than a pure wooden staircase? What is the difference or the advantage compared to a pure wooden staircase?

It is probably more expensive, but you save a construction staircase. I think the advantages are durability and mass (sound insulation). We wanted a closed staircase; a pure wooden staircase was neither offered to us nor did it occur to us.

could you please post a photo of your staircase here? Did you paint the staircase yourselves?

Best regards

In my avatar, the staircase can be seen. However, it still has construction wood as steps. Is that enough for you or should I upload another photo? We painted the steel. That’s how it goes with the painting work when it’s provided by the client. The paint cost around 10€/20€ at the specialty store, nothing significant. The stain was applied by the staircase builder.

I would be interested to know how the dark steps look. Did you do that with a brush or a roller?

Best regards

We have a steel staircase painted in RAL 7011 (gray) and anthracite-colored Resopal steps. Since there are still construction steps on it and the staircase is not yet painted, I will provide the photos next month. Then you can see what something like this looks like with dark steps...
