Oh, also an idea. I don't think my GÜ would do that, but I can ask anyway.

We clarified that directly with the electrician of our [GU]. It went smoothly

The problem is that it is relatively rare that a duplex socket is an advantage over a single socket. We also have duplex sockets everywhere because the additional cost was low. But it effectively doesn't benefit me anywhere at the moment: 50% of the sockets are still unused. For 45% of the sockets, I only need one connection (also looking ahead). And at two locations where one socket isn't enough, I currently need 3 (living room) and 5 (office) connections. So at both locations, there is a small 5- and 8-port switch.

There are also situations in which the switch is of no use, for example if you want to have different networks available separately or – God forbid – connect an analog fax. For that, there is hardly any way around two physical sockets.

At our place

Office: duplex socket with 1x laptop, 1x IP phone
Living room: one wall with duplex socket, 1x smart TV, 1 Playstation
Living room: other wall with duplex socket, 1x PC, 1x IP phone

If you install the network yourself, in my opinion, single sockets are not the best choice. They require the same installation space, and just to save a few cents on cable and socket, I would not want to install multiple single sockets. We use mostly double sockets everywhere. Only the access points get a cable.

Current plan: 2x study rooms (PC, printer) 2x living rooms (IP phone, smart TV) 2x children's rooms (PC, TV) 1x ground floor hallway (access point) 1x upper floor hallway (access point)

In addition, empty conduits for coax cables will be laid in the living rooms and children's rooms. The multiswitch is located in the wall distributor by the switch. This way, network can still be upgraded if necessary or Sat replaced by IPTV.
